Dr. Sergio Sokol is a board-certified cardiologist and president of Five Towns Heart Imaging in Cedarhurst, New York. In this role, he leads a cardiovascular group focused on noninvasive cardiology, including nuclear cardiology, echocardiography, and vascular disease. Dr. Sergio Sokol’s work includes diagnostic cardiac imaging and consultation with physicians across the East Coast.
Dr. Sokol has also served the New York medical community through hospital leadership and attending privileges. He was chief of cardiology at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital in Far Rockaway from 2008 to 2025. In this position, he led cardiology services for a 300-bed hospital, directed cardiology instruction for ACGME internal medicine residents, and chaired monthly cardiology board meetings. Earlier in his career, he provided cardiology services at Broadway Cardiopulmonary P.C. in Astoria.
Dr. Sokol earned his medical degree from Sackler School of Medicine at Tel Aviv University. He completed an internal medicine residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and a cardiology fellowship through North Shore University Hospital/Long Island Jewish Medical Center. He also earned an MBA from the University of Tennessee and a master of science in health care law from NYU School of Law. His recognitions include Castle Connolly Top Doctors honors and Newsday Top Doctors on Long Island listings.
